$30,000 Emirates First Class Flight – Eating Everything on the World’s Most Expensive Plane Ticket

Why I Booked a $30,000 Plane Ticket Just for the Food

I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to fly first class on the most expensive plane ticket money can buy, specifically what the food looks like. Can you guess what we are doing today? I did some looking and eventually found a $30,000 ticket on Emirates to Bali, Indonesia. The travel time is almost 24 hours, which is going to be plenty of time to focus on the food they have to offer.

Emirates First Class vs Private Jet Experience

If you check out the website, it describes this first-class experience as something similar to flying in a private jet. But here’s the thing, I don’t care about all that. Scroll down the page, and you’ll find that there are true gourmet meals on board. If I’m going to spend $30,000 on a plane ticket just to get the food, I’m going to get my money’s worth.

Ordering Anything, Anytime on a Long-Haul Flight

But I think that’s achievable because I see that you can order whatever you want, whenever you want. And because this is what they call a long-haul flight, check out how insane this sample menu is. This menu is almost as long as the Cheesecake Factory menu.

Airport Pickup and First Class Lounge Access

Before we take flight, I’ll remind you that we are catching up to Gordon, and I know that half of you watching aren’t subscribed, so go hit that button below to help us catch Gordon. Enough talking, it’s time to fly. To begin our journey, Emirates sent a car to pick me up and bring me to the airport. It even had these fancy lights on my feet.

Emirates First Class Lounge Food Experience

We pulled up to the airport, and I went inside to find the check-in counter. All I could think about was the food. Just moments later, I had my boarding pass, and it looks like we’ve got an invite to the lounge. Let the $30,000 worth of food begin. The lounge was beautiful. There was a full bar, tons of seating, and endless food options. Everyone was relaxed, even people walking around barefoot.

Boarding the World’s Biggest Passenger Plane

[mobile_video_player]

Eventually, it was time to board, and I was taken down a separate walkway. The plane was huge. Humongous. The biggest plane I had ever seen in my life. They led me straight to my seat, but this wasn’t a seat—it was a massive gold-covered private pod.

Inside the Emirates First Class Suite

There was so much floor space. The screen was about the size of my TV at home. I even had my own hidden bar. They immediately poured me champagne and explained that this was just ground champagne. Once in the air, they only serve Dom Perignon.

Takeoff and First Class Menu Overview

The captain told us to prepare for takeoff. I kicked off my shoes, buckled up, and got ready to eat. The flight is over 12 hours, which means plenty of time for food. That’s when I noticed—are there showers on this plane?

Unlimited Dining in the Sky

It was finally time to look at the menu. This is why I’m on this plane. You can order whatever you want, whenever you want, all flight long. I started with a virgin bloody mary because I love tomato juice on planes.

Snacks, Drinks, and Privacy

They brought roasted nuts and vegetable chips. First things first, some privacy. The drink smelled good and tasted great. A simple but delicious start to what would be a full day of dining.

Ordering the Entire Starter Menu

I ordered caviar, a mezze platter, celeriac soup, and salmon carpaccio. Basically, the entire starter menu. While waiting, I explored the luxury amenity kits filled with grooming products, pajamas, and beauty items I didn’t even know existed.

Caviar and Dom Perignon at 40,000 Feet

The caviar presentation filled the entire table. Perfect pearls, mother-of-pearl spoon, blinis, crème fraîche, egg yolk, chives, lemon, and unlimited caviar. Two spoonfuls per bite because I can. Paired with Dom Perignon, this didn’t feel real.

Mezze Platter and Middle Eastern Flavors

The mezze platter was incredibly fresh. Baba ghanouj, hummus, herbs, stuffed grape leaves, pickled vegetables—everything tasted like it was made moments ago. Easily one of the best parts of the flight.

Soup, Salmon Carpaccio, and Main Course Review

The celeriac soup looked bad but tasted amazing. The salmon carpaccio was simple and flavorful. The main salmon dish, however, was overcooked, dry, and disappointing. The tomatoes were great though, even if they exploded.

Emirates Onboard Lounge and Midnight Snacks

Feeling full, I headed to the onboard lounge. I ordered a virgin mint mojito and lemon pound cake. Later, while everyone slept, I ordered a salad and desserts. Yes, I dropped the cheesecake. Yes, I still ate it.

Sleeping, Showering, and Breakfast in the Sky

The seat turned into a full bed. I slept, woke up, and took a shower at 35,000 feet. The bathroom had heated floors and a five-minute water limit. Afterward, breakfast arrived with fruit, juice, smoothies, bread, and a full hot meal.

Final Thoughts on a $30,000 First Class Food Experience

The grapefruit juice was bitter, the omelet was average, the waffle soggy, but the overall experience was unreal. Now you know what it’s like to dine on a $30,000 flight—except I paid for it, and you didn’t. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Happy cooking.
