Gulfstream G700 Tour – Inside the Future of Private Flying
Introduction at Doha: The Gulfstream G700
(upbeat music) A big day at Doha today. Behind me is the future of private flying, the Gulfstream G700. Let’s go have a tour. Hello, good morning. What a pleasure. Beautiful aeroplane. Welcome to the 700 for the first time.
Advanced Cockpit Technology and Active Control Sidesticks
Lots of technology and capability have been brought into this aircraft, allowing it to do tremendous things. One of the major innovations is the active control sidesticks. This aircraft is the crew’s office, living room, and dining room for over 15 hours, so space and ergonomics matter.
Gulfstream spent nearly 10 years developing these active control sidesticks. As one pilot moves their sidestick, the other follows, creating an unspoken language between pilots and ensuring high situational awareness.
Fly-By-Wire and Fleet Commonality
Fly-by-wire technology makes every Gulfstream a beautiful flying aeroplane. Whether it’s the G500, G600, G650, or now the G700, they all use the same basic fly-by-wire system. This allows crews to move seamlessly between aircraft. Despite differences in size and fuel capacity, they all fly essentially the same way.
Smart Landing Systems and Enhanced Displays
As the aircraft lands and decelerates through 60 knots, the system automatically switches to the airport map. The primary flight display transitions to an exocentric view, placing the pilot above and behind the aircraft to provide a wider peripheral view. The G700 also features dual HUDs with enhanced vision systems and synthetic vision.
Cursor Control Device and Infrared Vision
The cockpit includes a cursor control device, similar to a computer mouse, allowing pilots to control and customize display presentations. With a simple selection, the display can switch from navigation maps to video feeds, including an infrared camera mounted on the nose, enabling visibility in night and low-visibility conditions.
Speed, Time Savings, and Performance
Gulfstream aircraft are designed to fly higher and faster. The slowest cruise speed is Mach 0.85, while the normal cruise is Mach 0.90, or 90% of the speed of sound. Compared to aircraft cruising at Mach 0.80, flying 500 hours per year can give owners back up to 52 hours of time annually.
Cabin Altitude and Passenger Comfort
Even at 51,000 feet, the cabin altitude is equivalent to just 4,800 feet. At typical cruise, the cabin altitude is between 3,000 and 4,000 feet—about half that of commercial airliners. This reduces fatigue, improves comfort, and makes long missions significantly easier on the body.

The Largest Galley in Business Aviation
Welcome to the G700 cabin. The tour begins in the galley, the largest available in any business jet. It features over 10 feet of counter space, a microwave oven, convection oven, full-size refrigerator, and extensive storage for food, beverages, ice, and waste.
Crew Rest and Cabin Size
The G700 includes the largest crew rest area in any business jet, complete with two windows and a private sleeping area for long-range missions. The cabin itself is the largest business jet cabin currently in production.
New Cabin Design and Healthy Air System
This is an entirely new cabin design from Gulfstream, featuring new seats, ledges, PSU panels, and layouts. The cabin environment is the healthiest in aviation, with 100% fresh air that is never recirculated. Air flows in and out of the aircraft every 90 seconds without the need for filtration.
Test Aircraft and Certification Program
This G700 is a Gulfstream company demonstrator and test aircraft. It is one of six aircraft flying in the certification program. This is the first aircraft fitted with an interior and will spend the next year testing seats, lighting, wiring, sound, and comfort to ensure a highly mature cabin upon first customer delivery.
Why Gulfstream Built the G700
The G650ER has been one of the most successful business jets ever, with nearly 500 delivered. The G700 represents the culmination of Gulfstream’s 65 years of experience designing, building, and supporting aircraft. It is the next step forward in performance, comfort, and capability.
Price and Availability of the Gulfstream G700
The next available Gulfstream G700 delivery is scheduled for 2025. The aircraft is priced at approximately $78 million.
Speed Records and Long-Range Capability
The G700 is the longest and fastest Gulfstream ever built. It recently flew from Savannah to Doha in just over 13 hours at Mach 0.88, faster than most commercial airliners.
Qatar Executive and the G700
Qatar Executive is a launch customer for the G700 and has a long-standing relationship with Gulfstream, having been a final customer for multiple flagship models. The company prioritizes quality, performance, and customer experience, which aligns with the G700’s capabilities.
Transition to the G650ER Experience
While the G700 continues its certification process, the journey continues aboard a Gulfstream G650ER for a flight above Doha. With the promise of reaching 50,000 feet, the Gulfstream experience continues—higher, faster, and more refined than ever.
